Mr. Isbell studied History in the historic City of Bath England and completed his PGCE at Exeter University before moving onto teach History and Geography for 8 years at Dubai’s leading international IB school before moving to Hong Kong in 2019. He garnered considerable IB Diploma experience there holding the role of CAS Coordinator, Internal Assessment & Extended Essay supervisor and teacher of Theory of Knowledge.
Mr Isbell is passionate about teaching History and Geography and view’s understanding of both subjects in tandem as a means to connect students to, and make sense of, the complex wider world we all live in. He was lead teacher on Camps International expeditions to rural Cambodia working in the community amongst other things building eco-toilets. He has spent time teaching students in Tokyo and Bolgatanga Ghana and lived in Sydney.
Mr. Isbell is also a proud father of five year old twins Alice & Arthur, and along with his wife Silvia, a role that occupies most of their time outside of school. He can often be seen cycling around Sai Kung and enjoys playing a tennis, hiking and exploring the fantastic city that is Hong Kong.
