After attending the Junior Conservatoire of Music from age 13, Miss. Kelly knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in Music. During her time at the Junior Conservatoire, she completed ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano, Violin, Saxophone and Music Theory as well as gaining the Stewart Linton Prize for Piano, Agnes Millar Memorial Prize for Piano and the Robert Howe Memorial Trophy.
Miss. Kelly graduated from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a First Class Honours degree in Music Education and a DipABRSM in Piano Performance. Since then, Miss. Kelly has worked as Head of Pastoral Staff at The Ingenium Academy, an International Summer School for Music as well as having taught in several schools across Scotland and internationally, working at the British International School of Chicago prior to joining NAISHK.
As Director of Music, Miss. Kelly is passionate about sharing her love of music with the school community and celebrating music with our future generations. Her favourite part of working at NAISHK is getting to know the students, supporting and challenging them in their musical journey, and watching the student’s confidence grow in the variety of performances both in and out of the classroom. Her vision for the department is to create an inclusive subject where all abilities of students are able to thrive.
Outside of school, Miss. Kelly enjoys being involved in a variety of sport and musical ensembles. She has competed in netball for the past six years, enjoys sailing at various championships and has enjoyed singing in barbershop choirs and a cappella groups. Miss Kelly also loves immersing herself in new cultures and enjoys travelling to new places.
