Dedication & Determination from our State Swimmers “I am so impressed with our swim team’s hard work, dedication and determination throughout this season.”

Three members of the Varsity swim team competed in the TAPPS State championship swim meet in San Antonio on Tuesday, Cerys (Y11), Amber (Y11) and Jasper  (Y12). Despite having an abbreviated season, all three swimmers had an outstanding performance.

Amber finished fourth overall in one of the most demanding events in high school swimming, the 200 yard IM. After competing in the IM, Amber went on to swim the 100 yard Breaststroke, finishing sixth overall. Amber has an extremely promising high school swimming career ahead of her and will be able to contribute greatly to the Bulldogs swim program in years to come.

Jasper achieved his personal best time in the 100 yard Freestyle event, finishing at :58.01 and placing first in his heat. Jasper worked diligently during the season, perfecting his stroke technique, building on his endurance and strength and his hard work paid off! With his continued hard work and determination, Jasper will be back next year competing in the state championship meet, stronger than ever!

After returning from an injury, Cerys managed to qualify and compete in the championship meet. Cerys competed in the 500 yard Freestyle, an extremely difficult event which requires great strength and endurance. Cerys finished sixth overall with a solid time of 6:33.80. Cerys is a very focused and dynamic athlete. She has and will continue to contribute greatly to the Bulldogs swim program.

“I am so impressed with our swim team’s hard work, dedication and determination throughout this season. Despite facing many obstacles throughout the season, the swimmers have maintained their positive outlook and never gave up. I truly believe, because of this, we will return next season stronger than ever.”
