My career in teaching started in south London in a forward-thinking Beacon school. Here I developed my interest in the Early Years, Mathematics teaching and learning and reflective practice.
Since then I have adventured beyond the UK, living and teaching in Jakarta, Chile, Egypt, Thailand, Bahrain and for the last eight years the beautiful rainforest of Borneo, Brunei Darussalam.
This experience has enabled me to take on a range of different roles and continue to develop my role as a reflective and effective practitioner within a wide range of teaching and learning contexts.
My recent experience was working at Panaga School part of Brunei Shell Petroleum. This was an excellent opportunity to make the most of the diverse environment within Brunei as a stimuli for teaching and learning. My roles as Lead teacher and Nursery year leader focused on developing an enabling learning environment within this context.
I have a real passion for the Early Years and fostering that same passion for learning with our youngest learners.
In my spare time I enjoy family time with my son Alfie and husband Andy. I love Tennis, skiing and diving and when I have the time, I enjoy sewing and dressmaking. I like to travel and have had the privilege of visiting so many different places during my time overseas. I and am so excited about the opportunity to travel extensively within the USA and am looking forward to living in Houston and working at the British International School of Houston.
