Primary Teacher

It had always been a dream of mine to teach internationally and live on a tropical island. This dream came true in 2016 when I was offered the wonderful opportunity to work at an international school on a small island in the Seychelles. For the past two years I have been the head of KS1, SENCo and a Year 2 teacher.

My ambition to become a primary school teacher started at a young age. My Mum and Dad were teachers and I loved nothing more than helping my Mum set up her classroom in the holidays. I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2010 with a first-class BSc honors degree in Psychology. Following my degree, I worked as a research assistant on a project investigating the effects of breakfast on children’s cognition for a year.

I completed my PGCE in 2012 and undertook a position at an amazing school in the UK where I was a class teacher in Reception for two years and then a class teacher in Year 1 for two years. During this time, I completed a post-graduate certificate in special educational needs coordination and was the school SENCo for one year.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to work as part of the wonderful team at BISH and to live in and explore Houston.

Favorite place I have visited: South Africa because I went on safari.

Hobbies: Travelling, experiencing different cultures, and yoga.
