Ian has taught internationally for 11 years and in El Salvador, Brazil, China, and Thailand. Ian has over 10 years of experience in management roles linked to the IB Diploma Programme including experience as a Coordinator for the three 'core' components of the Diploma Programme: CAS, TOK, Extended Essay. He’s also been an examiner for the IB Diploma Programme in History. Ian held the position of Head of IB Years at Dulwich College Shanghai before moving to Thailand where he was Head of History, Theory of Knowledge Coordinator, and CAS Coordinator at St. Andrews International School Green Valley.
Away from the classroom, Ian is a family man who enjoys time playing with his children. Ian is an avid reader of fiction of all genres as well as historical non-fiction. Ian plays football (soccer) regularly and enjoys swimming for exercise. Although he has not had much opportunity in recent years in Thailand, he is also a keen cricketer and represented the El Salvador national cricket team in non-ICC fixtures when he lived in the country. Having lived in North and South America, Europe and Asia, Ian and his family are keen travellers and are looking forward to enjoying family holidays in the great State of Texas in the coming years. Having studied American History at university in the US and the UK, Ian is also excited to get to see some more of the historical sites of interest in the United States.
