Who’s Who in Middle School?

Access to our School Information Systems

As a Village School parent/guardian, you have access to multiple systems that allow you to keep your child's information up to date, and also allow you to access their report cards, lunch balances, health information, and find out about upcoming activities and events. These tools will practically put you in the classroom with your child. School events, teacher messages, daily grades and more information are available at a click of a mouse!

After School - After Class Enrichment (ACE)

The ACE program hours for Elementary are from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extension available until 6:00 p.m. ACE is geared for students and parents who desire more activity outside normal school hours. ACE includes options for everyone, from dance to science sizzles, from cooking to languages. It is very popular so if you are interested, please reach out as soon as you can!

You can visit the ACE website for more details:  http://www.thevillageschool.com/ace  or download the brochure for more information.

If you have any questions please contact:
Kayla Guanajuato
ACE Coordinator
Ext. 1306

Middle School students in grades 6-8 who are interested in participating in Athletics must first complete all paperwork required including a physical from a U.S. doctor. There are different forms for grades 6-8 (Middle School) and 9-12 (High School).

Please refer to the Athletics website to download all the forms.

Calendar (Year)

For your convenience, we offer a one page year at a glance calendar that highlights all of the school holidays and important dates such as report cards, parent conferences and special early dismissals.

Our main focus surrounding carpool is the safety of our students. Thank you in advance for your patience. Below you will find some useful attachments with carpool information. Download them all!

7:50 a.m. Middle School start time

The Village School offers different channels of communications.  From email messages to social networks, and from an individual phone call, to automated phone calls in case of school closure. In order to receive all this information in the right guardian's preferred email address and telephone number, make certain your information is up to date in Skyward (see "Access to our school information systems" section.)

  • Teacher messages
Teachers will communicate with parents through the year via e-mail about activities and events or to request a conference.

  • Week at a Glance (WAAG)
Every Friday you will receive an email from Kathy Alvarado which includes the Middle School calendar for next week, future events, and details on everything from carpool to special events. The Back to School nights and teacher conferences will be announced in the WAAG. Read it weekly to see what is coming up! It usually comes around 5:00 p.m.

  • Town Hall Meetings
Our Head of School, Gabriella Rowe, has 3 Town Hall Meetings a year that you can attend in person in our High School, or log in and watch live!  These information nights cover everything from school expansion, curriculum enhancements across all divisions and everything in between including a Q&A.

  • School Communications
From time to time, the school sends notifications, announcements, and other information to our school community. You will receive these in your email account.

  • Village Facebook Page
If you have not done so, like our facebook page to receive updates of school activities and events. Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/thevillageschooltx/

This is a closed group for parents of the Middle School. If you want to join, just go to the following page and click on "Join Group".  One of the directors will grant you access after verifying your identity. Follow us on Twitter for the latest news:

  • Telephone Calls
Our teachers, nurse and administrators will sometimes reach out to you regarding your child via telephone. Sometimes with concerns, sometimes with good news, so do not feel alarmed if you miss the call and we did not leave a message. In addition, when there is a school closure, we launch our emergency broadcasting system that makes thousands of calls per minute to inform you about our school closure or possibility of closure. If you do not answer this call, a voicemail is left.   A notice about school closure is also always posted on the main page of our website and sent via email as well.

Health Information

Welcome to the school. In order for your child to attend school, you will need to provide some important medical information to the school nurse by the first day of school. Preferably at your earliest convenience.

To better serve you, below is a checklist of the information required. Please also visit our clinic's website page for guidance on the school policy regarding illnesses, "useful links" relating to health and school immunization requirements. Do feel free to contact the school nurse with any concerns or questions: nurse@thevillageschool.com

You have the option of sending your child’s lunch to school daily or to enroll in the hot lunch program with our food service provider, Flik Independent School Dining.

If you are interested in a hot lunch for your child, we make them here in our kitchens operated by Flik ISD.
