Ava N- Future Dermatologist

Future Dermatologist

She sits while her mother combs her hair and places a big navy bow at the top of her ponytail. At first glance, the mirror reflection shows a little girl in a navy and white school uniform. But, she knows she is much more than that. She pulls out her phone and watches the music video she created last night. Her imagination soars as she listens to the music. She sees a dark room and a single spotlight focused on an empty center stage. Maybe one day, she will fill that stage. The song fades as she opens eyes, catching a smiling little star in the reflection of the screen.

Ava N., a second grade student at The Village School, loves to draw and create music on her phone. She dreams of being a YouTube sensation but knows the importance of receiving a quality education. She has immersed herself into the STEAM curriculum at Village and wants to be a dermatologist when she grows up. She is interested in majoring in biology, somewhere on the East Coast, ideally New York.

Ava is from Vietnam and enjoys learning about America and the culture in her social studies class. A fluent English, Vietnamese and French speaker, she has the capability of catering to more than one culture in her field of choice. Ava’s words of advice are “Be confident and strong.”
