Kevin C.

Middle School Social Studies Teacher

He re-positions his chair as the students begin their presentation, this will be their last practice before leaving for the regional Model UN conference. The bus will leave in only a few hours and while he’s confident they’re ready he can see their nerves began to creep into their voices. He sits them down for a final pep talk and reminds them that even if they don’t bring home any awards they still will have done some good for the world because they were brave enough to discuss the issues at hand.

Kevin Carpenter is in his eighth year at The Village School. Kevin is a middle school social studies teacher, curriculum specialist and ELL Summer Camp Director. He received his Masters in Education and brings a unique expertise to the school, having taught internationally. He leads trips to Mexico, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and China. His diverse background and experience teaching students from different parts of the world and of other cultures serves him well at Village. When asked his favorite thing about Village, Kevin responded by saying, “Its diversity, opportunity and supportive community.”

Not only is Kevin an outstanding educator, but he is also a leader for our students. He founded the middle school Model UN, and leads a growing group of students to help tackle many issues facing the world today while teaching them the importance of problem-solving, collaboration and diplomacy.

Kevin has also coached our middle school baseball team, and enjoys traveling, sports and playing guitar.  He firmly believes that you should leave each place you go better than you found it.
