Marco S. is a senior at The Village School. He has spent 11 years at Village, and during that time Marco has forged many strong relationships with teachers and friends. He is also very active and participates on three different sports teams- cross country, soccer and track and field. He is captain of the boys soccer team where he has won two state championships, and is a key member of the boys cross country team that won the district title during his senior season.
When asked what he likes most about Village, Marco said, “my friends and all the people I’ve grown up with throughout my life. They have shaped me into becoming the person I am.”
Clearly, Marco places the highest value on his relationships with people. That is truly a sign of someone who takes time to understand people around him and is considerate and grateful for the impact they have had on his life. In fact, he is considering studying psychology in college because he loves learning about why humans interact the way they do.
Marco’s words of advice for our current Village students are: “friends are the most important thing a person can have in life.” What a wonderful message to share with our students and let them know that life is about caring for one another and sharing those meaningful experiences, and ups and downs with those closest to you.
