Grade 11 student Carolina López-Chacarra Coto has been making waves in the international golf world! Among her many achievements, Carolina is the highest-ranking Spaniard in the World Amateur Golf Ranking’s list of female amateur golfers, where she currently holds position number 52.
One of Carolina’s most impressive feats took place in May 2019, when she placed second in the women’s Individual Amateur Spanish golf championship (I Memorial Emma Villacieros) despite being one of the youngest players. The championship took place at Madrid’s Club de Campo Villa, and a post-championship interview with 16-year-old Carolina can be seen here (in Spanish).
2019 was a spectacular year for Carolina – not only did she turn heads at the I Memorial Emma Villacieros, she also had amazing results in the Copa Federación Vasca, European Girls’ Team Championship and the Junior Vagliano Trophy. In addition, Carolina had the distinction of representing Spain in the World Junior Girls Championship in Ontario, Canada in September 2019.
2020 also promises to be a stellar year; by February, Carolina had already placed second in the Portuguese International Feminine Championship. We are very proud of Carolina and can’t wait to see where our driven golfer goes next.
