My teaching journey started off in London where I was an Assistant Teacher at a primary school in Enfield. I enjoyed working in education so I qualified to be a teacher and spent three years teaching year 6 at the same school (Honilands Primary School). I then made the decision to teach abroad and became a teacher at an international school called Kingsgate in KL where I taught in year 2 for two years. Last year, I started working at BSKL where I taught in year 4. I am again teaching year 4 this year and have recently been made teaching, learning and assessment lead for my year group.
In my spare time, I like to play football and have played from a fairly young age. I also greatly enjoy travelling and have visited many interesting places around Asia since arriving in Malaysia three years ago. My reason for being in education is that I enjoy aiding children in getting started on their lifelong road to learning and teaching them concepts which will hopefully remain with them into adulthood.
For me, student happiness means creating a supportive atmosphere where children feel safe to take risks in their learning.
