This will be my first year at BSKL and I am very much looking forward to joining the dedicated staff at this great school.
As a teacher, I like to encourage my students to maximise their potential by taking risks in their learning. Making mistakes is an important part of the learning process and I strive to make my classroom a safe environment where children do not feel scared to take risks in their daily learning.
I believe education plays a vital role in a child’s life as it encourages personal growth and provides an opportunity for children to have a promising and fulfilling future. Children should feel empowered by their education and I aim to achieve this by instilling a love of learning in my pupils.
I am originally from London in the UK where I taught in Year 6 for 3 years and was made Head of Year in my third year. For the past two years, I have taught in Year 2 at another international school in Kuala Lumpur.
A history graduate, I have a real interest in social and political history and I enjoy sharing my passion for the subject with the children I teach. Before I was a teacher, I also worked in television and radio and spent some time volunteering as a presenter at a hospital radio station. In my spare time, I enjoy playing football and going to the gym. I am also a keen traveller and I have enjoyed visiting many different countries in South East Asia over the past two years.
