Ms Katie Childs

1

Head of Chemistry

Honours Bachelor of Science (Specialization in Chemistry with a minor in Physics) from The University of Western Ontario, London Canada, PGDE in Chemistry and Physics from The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Scotland

Katie has joined the British School in Kuala Lumpur from Canada via the U.K. She began her teaching career at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh where she earned her QTS before moving to England and joining a vibrant and enthusiastic science department at Cheam High School (an Ofsted Outstanding school). During her time at Cheam High School Katie contributed greatly to the running of a very successful Chemistry department and developing the delivery of the A-level course. She then spent two years teaching at Duff Miller College in South Kensington (independent sixth form and GCSE college). Here she became Head of Chemistry and implemented the new A-level reform.

Katie is a firm believer in following life's passions. Some of hers include travelling, hiking and of course Chemistry. She strives to develop a passion for Chemistry in all of her students.
