I completed my NQT year at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh teaching Chemistry. I then moved from Scotland to England and began teaching at Cheam High School. Cheam was an Ofsted Outstanding School which I worked at for 4 years as a Chemistry and Physics teacher from KS3 through to A-Level in both subjects. Finally, I moved to Duff Miller College in London to teach both Chemistry and Physics to primarily A-level students before moving to Malaysia to work at BSKL.
My favourite hobbies include travelling with my husband and now our son, playing board games, running and hiking. My favourite sports are baseball/softball, skiing, running, hiking but I will give any sport a go! My reason for becoming a teacher is because when I was a student in high school I had some very inspirational Science teachers who not only fuelled my passion for their subjects but also my desire to be that person for someone else by becoming a teacher myself.
In my role at BSKL student happiness is knowing that they are comfortable enough to make mistakes and learn from them, to enjoy the subject and be eager to show up. Our students are a fantastic example of this and it is not surprising that it forms the foundation of our student success.
