During the National Day break, NACIS golf team, comprising of 19 NACIS primary and secondary students, took part in the fifth Yaoshun Youth Cup Golf Tournament, which attracted 80 schools and 192 junior golfers in Shanghai.  In this 7-days breathtaking competition, the final winners didn’t come out until the last minute. Our 9 primary students were runners up in the primary division while the 10 secondary students were the victorious champions of the junior high division. Jiale Wu from 5 Oak, Kevin Xu, and Henry Wang from 5 Oak ranked No. 2, No. 6 and No. 10 respectively among all primary boys, while Ronald Zheng from 7 Oak, Bruce Cai from 7 Yew, and Wiley Hang from 8 Elm, ranked No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 among all secondary boys. We would like to congratulate all students participating in the competition on their outstanding achievement, and hope they could keep up the excellent work in the future tournaments. Be ambitious!

About NACIS Golf Team

NACIS golf team was voluntarily formed by a group of junior golfers in NACIS, who had played golf generally more than one year. We take private lessons individually, but play monthly internal tournaments together, and represent NACIS to compete in the intercollegiate tournaments. We are not the formal school team yet due to the limitation of practicing facility and qualified staff. In the past one year, we had excellent performance in the intercollegiate tournaments, and our team members rapidly grew to the size of 30.  We are looking forward to becoming the formal school team in the near future and welcome you to join us to grow together!  Go NACIS!

Acceptance Speech
Jiale Wu from 5 Oak I have been playing golf for 3 years. Golf is an amazing sport which tests your persistence. I have developed a good character of persistence in this up-down journey, and I am thrilled to join the big family of NACIS golf team. I look forward to winning more medals for the School.

Henry Wang from 5 Oak: It has been 2 years since I played golf. The best thing from the golf is that I have made many good friends with great schoolmates from different grades. In this tournament, I didn’t achieve my best result because of some unnecessary mistakes. But I am still very confident on my golf skill, and will start to work harder together with my teammates, so that we can win the victorious champions in the next intercollegiate tournament.

Ronald Zheng from 7 Oak: I am so grateful for the tremendous support from the organizer, our team and volunteers that I can make great contribution for the victorious win.  Golf is my favorite sport. Through this tournament, I have made more new friends, who can exchange our thoughts, have fun and make progress together. In the following days, I will practice even harder to achieve more success for the team.

Bruce Cai from 7 Yew:  The pairings in my group played really well. I am so happy that I could successfully overcome the peer pressure, control my playing rhythm, and thus make the good individual ranking of No 5.  I am very glad to make good contribution for our team to defend the champion title!

Wiley Hang from 8 Elm: It was a great team work for us to retain the Championship title. I am so proud to be in this winning team! Through this intense competition, I did find some critical issues in my skill sets and course strategy. I will practice very hard to improve these issues so that we can get more wins for the School!
