U15 Football

Our U15 boys football team embarked in their first SSSA tournament of the season after a successful Global Games full of confidence.

The first game we performed extremely well and were very unlucky to lose 1-0 against a very strong SHSID side. The second game saw us play some excellent football, and unfortunately, due to some poor game management Jin Cai equalized in the last kick of the game to make it 2-2 with our goals coming from Gary Yan and Ryan Wang. Our third game saw us comfortably beat SUIS Pudong with goals from Jerry Long, William Bu and Joe Ni. We moved into the semi-final with an excellent team performance beating Jin Cai 2-0 with an own goal and Gary Yan getting on the scoresheet. In the final, we battled well but fatigue got the better of the boys with SHSID scoring 3 goals in the final 8 minutes to seal victory.

The boys showed some signs of excellent quality, with better game management and fitness we will look to go one better in the next tournament. Gary Yan picked up tournament MVP after showing excellent quality both in and out of possession. A special mention goes to Action Yan who has made some fantastic progress this season, showing how far hard work and listening can get you, well done Action.

U15 Girls Basketball

Monday evening we hosted our first ever girls basketball game with our Grade 8 and 7 students taking on SUIS Gubei.

Our girls have shown remarkable progress and dedication to improving their skills and played exceptionally well in a hard-fought game. Having been in the lead for the majority of the game, we were unfortunate to lose the game 14-17 against a competent SUIS Gubei team. It was an excellent experience for the girls, with much more competition and matches they will develop experience and game understanding.

A big well done to all those involved, and those who were not involved this time but are working hard to developing their game understanding.
