Mathematics Makes Us More Alive!
Speaking of Shanghai's mathematics education, you may have learned from the news, called "real Shanghai mathematics" mathematics textbook has been the first large-scale login in Europe and the United States this year. This phenomenon does not happen by accident. It is a kind of action that many education experts at home and abroad approve and yearn for education in Shanghai after years of research, practice and exchange visits.
Among them, it is not difficult to find that the advanced nature of the mathematics curriculum of the second-phase curriculum reform in Shanghai is very clear, original and childlike, no matter in terms of knowledge structure or skill cultivation. It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of its creation, this curriculum system also drew lessons from the research results of some developed countries, among which the typical integration elements came from Germany. NACIS students are happy and lucky because teachers are working hard every day to create a better learning environment for them, which not only includes knowledge accumulation, skill cultivation, but also collision of ideas and smart connection with the reality of life. In this issue, I am very happy to introduce to you the interest and progress of students in learning mathematics.
In this academic year, our Maths team made a breakthrough based on the original goal of "expression and understanding in bilingual, cultivation of thinking skills, mathematical games and activities, and practical application in life". I have personally participated in the daily research and study of teachers, and I was moved by the spirit of everyone's efforts to study teaching aids based on the students' standpoint. From the daily life of children, I have found that many children learn by making their own learning resources and really become the master of learning. On the basis of the previous year's full test, FAST personalized mathematical progress assessment online platform has been launched and is on track. By drawing lessons from the advantages of Chinese and international curriculum and using online big data recording and analysis, we can not only understand the learning status of the group, but also help every student find advantages and problems, and provide follow-up guidance. At the same time, Chinese and English teachers cooperate with each other. In addition to solid promotion of the basic curriculum content, mathematics, as a basic subject, has been widely used in STEAM and MDL to expand and explore the field, so that students can really learn and apply it.
From the faces of teachers and children, it is not hard to see that the difficulties of math learning are turning into a kind of fun. I do hope that parents can encourage their children to discover the unknown and never give up challenges. Or accompany them on a meaningful math weekend!
