Our NACIS U14 boys football team performed extremely well in the Nord Anglia Global Games competition, competing against other Nord Anglia schools from Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Our first game of the day saw us beat BISS Puxi 5-1 with goals from Bruce Cai (3), Michael Li and Justin Hou, this was followed by a battling 1-0 win over NAIS Pudong with a well-taken goal from William Bu. As the day continued we managed an outstanding 6-0 victory against BS Guangzhou with goals from Joe Ni (2), William Bu, Justin Hou and Michael Li (2). We rounded day 1 off with a good 4-2 victory against a strong BS Hong Kong team with goals from Gary Yan, William Bu, Joe Ni and Bruce Cai.

We entered the second day unbeaten with a semi-final against a very good British School of Beijing team, despite a battling second half performance we were defeated by 1-3 with the goal coming from Bruce Chai. We finished our 3rd place play-off game losing 0-2 to NAIS Pudong after missing several chances and were very unlucky in defeat.

The boys performed admirably over a long two-day tournament with fatigue playing a big impact in the final two games. The boys showed how much they have progressed over the past year and put in some excellent performances and represented the school well.

Gary Yan, Bruce Cai and Andy Wang were all selected for the All-Star team after some excellent individual performances, though in our opinion each and every one of the NACIS team was an all-star over the two days.

A big thank you to the parents who came to support us over the two days and arranged transport to and from NAIS Pudong. We are extremely lucky to have such parents who are passionate for sport.
