Despite the awful weather on Tuesday, the Grade 5 trip to Oriental Land on Wednesday went ahead! Arriving at 10.15am, the students strolled through the beautiful settings to meet the instructors at their first activity. Met by a netted wall with small hoops across it, the students discovered that they must collaborate in their groups to successfully get everyone through to the other side. With communication and leadership, each group achieved their goal with all students making it to the other side.

When the students set eyes on the second activity, excitement raised even more! The students stood in front of a huge obstacle course where the rules and instructions were explained. After lots of chanting, the students began working their way across the course, working in small groups to encourage everyone to make it across. Despite climbing walls, balance beams and moving distractions blocking their way, the students were able to work together to discover the best paths safely across the course.

A quick bite to eat refueled the students for their walk around the park. With so many sights to see, the students absorbed information from the statues surrounding the main square.

All-in-all, a super trip with some fantastically well behaved students. Well done Grade 5!

I was very happy because I could be with my friends. We also found all the answers to the questions that we were given in our Chinese lessons. - Elsa, 5 Cedar

At the end, I was so tired! We worked really hard to complete all the activities. We had so much fun. - Peter, 5 Yew

My favourite part was climbing through the huge wheel in the assault course. When I made it to the top, I was so scared but my friend helped me to make it to the end. - Candy, 5 Blossom
