As I come to the end of my first semester as your international Principal it is important to reflect on what we have achieved and my key memories of my time with our community. There are of course too many to mention and omission of what perhaps was your best memory or event is not intentional, I have just had to narrow them down for this message.
Our first ever winter fair must be in my top memories along with the efforts of the parent ambassadors and all their supporters to make it such a success. The behaviour and attitude of all your children during this event shows great respect for everything we do and a maturity that we aim for, getting your children through to being outstanding individuals and successful people upon completion of the IBDP.
Secondly, I must reflect back to the beginning of the school year and the first few weeks directing traffic and developing new strategies for an effective flow of traffic. It was a positive outcome again with your support and all our staff, guards and facilities, a great achievement. Then there was that video on a rainy day after school, I will never forget that attention, something I have never experienced before.
I am proud of the new systems we are putting in place for communication with a large number of targeted e-mail addresses and the use of FireFly. We are just at the beginning of this, but I hope you are able to see the benefits of what we are trying to do.
Community sports are my final highlight to mention and I have truly enjoyed being invited to several different events and sometimes joining in, although my golf does need some practice!
We hope you have had a wonderful semester and wish you a wonderful time with your families over this important time of year. Xin Nian Kuai Le!
