During the final week of Semester 1, many Grade 7 students had the pleasure of spending the week in Switzerland on the Global Campus Snow Sports trip. They enthusiastically participated in a range of sporting activities including skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing. Many were experienced and worked tirelessly to develop their skills further over the week, while others took to the slopes for the first time and displayed their resilience as they got back up on their feet, time after time! Students had a day dedicated to snow-shoeing through the Alps, where they took in beautiful views of Mt. Blanc and threw a few mischievous snowballs along the way. The evenings were just as action-packed, as many opted to take part in cross-country skiing, while others took the weight off their feet by sledging down the snow-covered hills. A warm cup of hot chocolate was always welcomed at the end of each day! Their interactions with the local ski-instructors and staff was a testament to their open-mindedness and demonstrated their positive communication skills, both of which we value highly at NACIS. This is not the first Global Campus trip for many of these students and the development of both their self-management and social skills was clear to see throughout the week. They were a credit to themselves and the NACIS family.
