As a young school established for four years, NACIS IB graduates have achieved a 100% IB pass rate for two consecutive years. In the class of 2020, two students achieved a total score of over 40 (43 and 41) for the first time since the founding of our school, which ranked in the top 5% of the IB class in the world.
What are the goals of our IB team this year? What subjects do we offer? When will we start to prepare the career plan?
On September 19, we held the first IB information session of the semester, which attracted nearly 200 families, including prospective families who are about to start IB journey, as well as current families who have already enrolled in our IB program.
Through the event, parents had a comprehensive overview of the grades 10 to 12 curriculum and an in-depth one-to-one consultation with our executive Superintendent, Mr. Christopher Short, international head of secondary, IB Coordinator, the subject heads and the university counselors.
Lay a Good Academic Foundation with Professional Teaching
Mr. Christopher Short, executive Superintendent, Mr. Simon McRoberts, international head of secondary and Mr. David, IB coordinator as well as Vivian and Tiffany, university counselors introduced the IB teaching philosophy, curriculum setting, extended activities and career plan to parents in detail, and conveyed our educational philosophy "be ambitious”.
Explore Every Possibility with Personalized Plan
Every child has unlimited potential. During the curriculum consultation, each subject teacher provided professional one-to-one solutions to parent's questions. Parents who are worried about their child's poor English have expressed their concerns to Mr. Steven. After learning about the child's reading preferences, Mr. Steven provided targeted bibliographic recommendations, left contact information and said: “I will regularly check the progress of your child’s reading progress and give feedback to you”. In the eyes of NACIS teachers, every child is a unique.
Meet the Learning Needs with New Facilities
The parents also visited new teaching facilities such as the IB teaching area, steam lab, stadium and learning resource center which will help IB students with more targeted learning.
Build the Cornerstone of Progress with Good Home-school Communication
In addition to the guidance from teachers, parents’ support is the most important for students. Close and harmonious home-school communication can also promote the mutual understanding and become the cornerstone of students’ progress.
During the activity, we saw parents consult with teachers based on the specific situation of their children, including the teaching content of math classes, the difficulty level of English, the way of encouraging shy students and the intensity of PE, etc.
We can see the trust and expectation from parents through the busy consultation. Our IB teaching team will also take it as a motivation to maintain close communication with parents and promote the development of students together.
You want your child to excel, so do we.
