Good News From NACIS Class of 2021

Nord Anglia Education Group (NAE) is committed to providing high quality education for students around the world. In China, NAE has 17 schools with years of experience in international education. This year, NAE has also got a lot of good news, with prospective graduates receiving offers from many prestigious universities.

Among them, Jackson from the British school of Nanjing received the offer from The University of Cambridge. Lara from The British International School Shanghai (Puxi) received the offer from the university of Oxford. After the gap year, Xing from Léman International School Chengdu has received the offer from the math department of Oxford University with excellent performance for two consecutive years.

As a member of the NAE family, NACIS prospective graduates have also received satisfactory results. By March 9, 2021, 14 graduating students from NACIS Shanghai have received nearly 50 offers from top universities in the UK, UK and Canada, including University College London (UCL), University of Warwick, King's College, University of Toronto (Canada), top art schools in the US and the University of Hong Kong, etc.

Phoebe has participated in many international exchange activities of NAE during learning at NACIS. She participated in the Model United Nations Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA on behalf of NACIS, where she spoke for the young generation on the stage.

Ms. Wendy, Head of Secondary Chinese said:

With excellent time management ability, Phoebe has her own unique way in alleviating pressure. During the two-year intensive IB learning, I see her personal charm of being orderly, meticulous and relaxed. As her Chinese teacher, I led Phoebe to study the knowledge she was interested in with an exploratory eye, and gradually changed her love for literature from passive acceptance of knowledge to active exploration of the charm of literature.

After years of self-exploration, Phoebe becomes elegant, organized and capable of many demanding tasks. The high learning standard has not hindered her from developing her interests. She has balanced the development of high-quality study, personal interests, and personal qualities. All of these are the reasons why she can get many offers from famous universities.

Ms. Vikki, IB CAS Coordinator:

What impresses me most about Gloria is her self-assurance. She has a clear focus set on her goals and has a measured way to achieve them.

Gloria has participated in many creative competitions during learning at NACIS. Last year, she won the first prize in the Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, the largest and highest-level competition in youth science and technology innovation. She spent one and a half years in creating the project 'Automated Bluetooth Based Communication Garden Cabin', which integrates programming, engineering, and science, etc.

We can see Vivian's unique personality charm, especially her artistic talent and expression ability. Therefore, our teachers provided a diversified stage for her to show herself. At the IB Art Gallery, we saw Vivian communicating with parents as a curator; At the IB CAS fair, we saw that she introduced the IB learning experience to the junior students; On World Children’s Day, we also heard her insights on children's rights and interests.

Ms. Vikki, IB CAS Coordinator said:

Vivian’s integrity is a credit to her. Vivian’s interest in student wellbeing from Grade 10 encouraged her to create a CAS project that would also leave a legacy here in NACIS after she graduates. Together with a number of her peers she established a student prefect system, focused on mentoring younger students and spreading kindness through the school. With her prefect team, she helped to organise an Anti-Bullying Week involving all teachers and students in NACIS. Her commitment to caring for her fellow students has never wavered, nor has the efforts she puts into her studies.

During the various school activities, I could see Jack speak with fervor and assurance. Especially when it comes to his interests, her eyes are always full of joy. When we met Jack at the CAS Fair at the end of last year, he was introducing his mechanical keyboard to the junior students, including the production process of the keyboard, the functions of each keyboard and how to promote his keyboard in the market. We are delighted to see that Jack has received offers from the market management department of the world's top universities, and hope that he can continue to learn what he loves.

Ms. Vikki   IB CAS Coordinator :

Jack supported a Grade 1 class in their weekly library lessons for his CAS Service. Watching Jack interact with the younger Primary students, through storytelling and guided reading was heartwarming. Jack was challenged to adapt his conversation skills and rose to the occasion becoming a very popular “extended member” of the Grade 1 class.

We hope that our students can be ambitious and develop their potential. Siri made it.

Ms. Vivian, University Counselor:

Siri can play Gu Qin at the professional level, and she was interested in history. She read a lot of history books, which triggered her thinking on politics and economy. She was also an active practitioner of extracurricular activities, such as student union, music therapy club, and Gu Qin concert.

Siri attended workshops to learn about how music can be a form of therapy for certain medical conditions. She then went on to lead a number of fundraising events in NACIS to raise money and awareness for her chosen care home.

We hope that all the students who graduate from NACIS Shanghai can march forward in the fields they love and live up to the time and themselves.

More offers from the world's top universities will be coming in the next few months. Let us look forward to hearing more from our students!
