NACIS receives certificate for the best regional IB results

best IB

Dear parents,

Good News from Class of 2021

Congratulations to Siri and Steven, who have both received an offer from the University of California to study Economics.

Golden has also received an offer from the University of California to study Chemistry.  All three of these students are delighted to have received this offer, the University of California is ranked 39th within the United States.

Gloria and Jack have also both received an offer from Fordham University to study Sociology and Management respectively.  The students are still carefully weighing up their options before making any final decision.

An exciting time for all of us!

Lesson Observations

As I mentioned last week we are undertaking lesson observations in both Primary and Secondary at the moment. It is a very important part of our performance management process and allows us to focus on continually improving our teaching and learning. Great teachers are always looking to improve their teaching and therefore students’ learning and appreciate the opportunity to showcase their lessons. I have joined our senior teams in Secondary to observe lessons and help give feedback which I always enjoy. One of the lessons was around my favourite Chemistry topic when I was an A Level teacher – a few years ago now!

G11 University Guidance

It was lovely to see Grade 11 parents in school last week to meet with our university guidance counsellors. As you know from our weekly updates from Mr Jefferson-Gleed, we have had some wonderful offers from universities for our current Grade 12 students and last years Grade 12 had 75% of them gain admission to universities in the Global top 50. Our Grade 11 students are already working with our UGCs and so this was an opportunity to brief parents on this important process. All secondary students were recently offered the opportunity to attend a Council of International Schools (CIS) university fair which allowed them to meet representatives from universities around the World.

Primary Assembly

It was lovely to attend the Upper Primary assembly last Friday and see students recognised for their great work – this week around Enquiry. 6 of the winners were chosen to have lunch with Mr Hopkins and I and we had a very enjoyable time discussing what they enjoyed about NACIS and their tips and suggestions for improvements. We also honoured Mr Ciaran’s girls football team for their recent tournament success.

Best IB Results

I was delighted to receive our certificate for the best regional IB results.

I hope you have a great week.
