NACIS Students Won the Champion of the NAE Musician of the Year Competition

Through our strategic alliance with NAE, our Global Campus brings together 67,000 students in 69 schools in 29 countries around the world. Since we could not get together to exchange learning results during the epidemic period, NAE brought together "Global Alumni" from around the world for an online music competition through Global campus.

Among more than 1,300 entries with a total length of over 6,500 minutes from 61 sister schools, several young musicians from NACIS Shanghai won awards in various instrument categories for their dedicated performance, including percussion champion for age 10-14 category and piano champion for under 9 category, etc. Mr. Jamie, one of the judges, was delighted to share with us: “It is a great affirmation for them to stand out from the young musicians all over the world and win the champion of different categories. We are proud of our students”!

We believe in the power of music. In their performance, we can feel their devotion to music and the warmth conveyed in the notes. Let's enjoy their performance together.

Louis G4 -- Winner -- Modern Instrument (Age 10-14 Category)

During the competition, I learned various music forms and saw many excellent works. Many students did well in different types of music including modern music or folk music, which broadened my horizon. I want to say: “There is always someone better than you. I still need to learn a lot! I will continue to work hard and hope to see a wider world and learn more music knowledge”.

Rainbow G4 -- Winner -- Piano (Under 9 Category)

I want to express my gratitude to NACIS for providing the opportunity and stage for each of us. I am also very happy that everyone likes my performance. I like NACIS very much and I am happy at school every day. We are supported to develop interests outside of daily study. Our school also provides a very good artistic atmosphere for us. I am also a member of the keyboard band. Thank Ms. Linda for selecting the repertoire for me.

I have been fond of classical music since I was a child, and I like to tell stories through the piano. I hope I can bring joy to everyone through melodious sound and we can enjoy the warmth, affection, and happiness that music brings to us.

Elon G3 -- Special Mention -- Piano (Under 9 category)

I am happy to win a prize during the competition! I love music very much. Music is my LIFE! It's so beautiful. Music embodies the best of life! The piece I played was a nocturne in C minor composed in 1830 by Chopin, one of the greatest musicians in the Romantic period. I love music and hope to deliver the beauty to all people!

Madeline G1 -- Runner Up -- Range Strings (Under 9 Category)

Hi, I'm Madeline from Grade 1. I like playing the violin very much. Although the practice process is very hard, I am very excited when I can play a song well with the accompaniment every time. I will keep practicing and hope to bring everyone more good music!

It starts with love.

This is the attribute we see from these children, and the learning motivation that NACIS Shanghai values the most. At NACIS, we are committed to providing students with a diverse learning experience, which includes solid knowledge, interschool communication activities and learning challenges on the global platform.  We provide a variety of opportunities for students to inspire their potential and get a more comprehensive self-awareness and find the direction they will strive for.

As Louis said, "There is always someone better than you”, we hope that NACIS students can enrich themselves, broaden their horizons and develop unlimited potential through learning and exchanges across nations. This is exactly the original intention of the NAE Global Campus.

Mr. Jamie, head of our music department, said: “NACIS Shanghai will hold a special concert soon to thank all the students who participated in the competition. The four winners will also perform for us again. Through the online competition, NACIS musicians' wonderful performances will be watched by more people, which will inspire other NAE music lovers around the world to make progress together.

Our Global Campus brings together 69 schools and connects 67,000 students in 29 countries across the world.
