Secondary School

Each Secondary class has both a National and International Form Tutor who are responsible for looking after the students’ pastoral and academic care. The Form Tutors are parents’ first point of contact in communicating about their child’s well-being and progress at school.

  • Preparatory Stage of Learning

The curriculum for students in Grade 6 to Grade 9 prepares students for the pathways they will follow in the high school stage of learning.

During these years, students immerse themselves in intensive English programmes of study, at the same time continuing to deepen the knowledge and skills learned in the primary stage of learning, through the Shanghai National Curriculum and blended with education philosophy and teaching methods of other complimentary curriculums. Science (biology, chemistry and physics) and mathematics is taught in both English and Chinese, with standards drawn from the core Shanghai National Curriculum. Chinese language, literature and culture is taught in Chinese, complemented with the opportunity to study a further Modern Foreign Language where appropriate.

Students will be prepared to take the Zhongkao as part of the Shanghai National Curriculum.
