The Student Guild-promoted House Coin Challenge money has now been counted and it is with great pleasure that I can announce that 54,200 baht was raised from the 10 bahts, 5 bahts, 2 bahts and 1 bahts (not to mention the many satangs thrown in for good measure), which generous Regents’ students, staff and parents a-like contributed to the collection bottles based in Early Years, Primary and Secondary School locations.
Half of the total amount raised has already been donated to the Primary Community Chest, to support the Primary Community Partnerships. Money from this chest has been used during 2015-2016 to support various curriculum related trips for children from Community Partners such as ‘Hand To Hand’ and ‘Baan Jing Jai’.
The other half of the raised money will be split 6 ways between the 6 main, Secondary Community Partners. These are: Year 7’s Community Partner, Heart 2000, for Year 8, Haven’s Home, For Year 9, Hand To Hand, for Years 10 and 11, Women with a Mission, for the Learning Support Department’s Community Partner, Take Care Kids and for the long-standing Drama Department Community Partner, the Camillian Centre.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to both the Coin Challenge Collection and the Coin Design Competition. This dual House competition just goes to show that you can go a long way with a little bit of help from everyone. Don’t forget to start collecting your change for next year’s Coin Challenge – it is never too early to be prepared!
