We are nearing the end of an action-packed Half Term! Because of the quality of our Virtual School Experience (VSE) at NAIS MANILA engagement throughout Primary continues to be very high, an average of 95% in Term 2b. I wanted to pick out a few highlights from this half term for you.

Abhiroo (Year 5) was awarded a Special Mention in the Composition Category of the recently concluded NAE-Juilliard Virtual Young Musician competition for 2021. Well done, Abhiroo!

Our ‘Trashion Show’ was a massive success, with a range of different costumes from things that would have been thrown away!

Our second round of visits and workshops, as part of our collaboration with Juilliard was very positive. Our children (and teachers) took part in Music, Drama and Dance workshops. Our visitors were hugely complementary about the quality of teaching at NAIS MANILA and the engagement of the children

The celebration ‘365 Days of Gratitude’ was a fantastic way to mark a year of VSE. This was a great opportunity to share and show appreciation to all our wonderful community helpers the NAIS Manila way. Our whole Primary community took part in the initiative '365 Days of Gratitude' and throughout the week we saw parents, carers, children, school staff and teachers recognised in many different ways, for the crucial roles that they have played in Virtual Schooling.

We saw numerous certificates, emails, letters, and video messages reach a large number of our school community and these were thoroughly deserved! We all know that showing gratitude can have a positive impact on others, but it is also important for our own wellbeing.

Over the past couple of weeks, our children and teachers have thrown themselves into supporting our sister school in Yangon. You will probably be aware from the news that they are going through a very difficult time. However, the video messages, virtual cards and video calls from our Primary children has been a massive boost for them – Well done, NAIS MANILA!

Finally, out of the 73 Nord Anglia Education Schools, NAIS MANILA has been awarded ‘Best Use of Global Campus’. A fantastic team achievement and well-deserved recognition for our school community!

As you can imagine, we are delighted with the personal and academic progress that our children are making through our Virtual School Experience! We wish you all a safe and rewarding break and are very much looking forward to Term 3.

Best wishes,
