After graduating from the University of the Philippines, where she majored in Music Education, My-leen has been immersed in the international setting, as a performer, teacher, actor, choral clinician giving vocal and choral masterclasses, for over 15 years now. Before coming to NAIS Manila, she taught for over 5 years at two other international schools in Manila, training pupils in the areas of music and theatre performance.
Her vast range of experiences here and abroad include being the representative for the continent of Asia in Singers of United Lands where she taught and sang in the USA and Africa, representing the Philippines in the World Youth Choir for two years, where she traveled around Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Israel, and performing around the country with the Philippine Madrigal Singers and the Bayanihan National Dance Company, both world-renowned and multi-awarded artistic companies of the country. She has recorded several CDs with an a capella group she directs, with her singing family, and with other international singers abroad.
As a Music teacher, My-leen demonstrates and helps pupils reach high standards of professionalism in their academics and musical performances. She resolutely advocates the holistic wellness and development of each child and this is consistently shown in the way she carefully deals with them.
Baking, Bible studies, bonding with his boys and her husband, and boosting her knowledge in foreign languages are some things she is also passionate about.
