Under 18 Boys´ Basektball

On Monday, 3rd of March, EISP’s Under 18 Boys’ Basketball team travelled across Prague to participate in the Under 18 Basketball Festival at Riverside. The event was attended by five Prague-based schools and proved to be very competitive. Our boys played with the tenacity and composure of a seasoned team which translated into an astounding undefeated record of three wins and no losses and a first place finish! EISP was lead by our young but talented point guard, Filip Novotny (Y9), who made eight three-pointers, leading our team in points. Matej Potocar(Y12) gave us a much needed spark, scoring in transition and disrupting the other team’s offensive flow in every game that we played. Dominik Sobczak (Y12) also played very well for us, getting in our opponent’s passing lanes and hustling for every loose ball . Rebounding was key to our success and Dominik Stracar (Y12) and Danil Shapovalov (Y9) positioned themselves beautifully under the basket enabling them to control the boards and make the outlet pass to our guards. Defensively, Alex Alden (Y11) and Leonid Grishchenin (Y12) set the tone, causing countless turnovers and missed shots for the opposition. Overall, our boys showed that they are a force to be reckoned with and that when they play together as one unit, they are hard to stop. Many thanks to staff and parents who supported our efforts!
