Phillippa Tichotova

EAL Leader/English Teacher

Phillippa is from Country Durham in the North East of England. She graduated from the University of St. Andrews with a degree in English and has a PGCE from the University of Nottingham.  She moved to the Czech Republic in 2002 and worked at Charles University and Czech Technical University before deciding she would like to work with younger students. Phillippa joined EISP in 2006 and has worked with children from nursery all the way up to IB supporting students who are new to English. She became the school’s EAL leader in 2013.

Phillippa lives just outside of Prague with her husband, two children, dog, cat and guinea pigs. She spends quite a lot of her spare time trying to answer quite difficult questions on complicated subjects devised by one of her small children, but when she gets a minute, she enjoys nothing more than sitting down with a cup of tea and a good book.  She has worked as a language editor for Literasia Pragensia and in 2008 she co-authored a specialist EAL textbook, English for Biomedical Engineers.
