Our School Day

From the school bus pick up to the after school clubs, it's a busy day at the English International School Prague. The school day is structured to encourage routine and familiarity, whilst having a breadth of experiences within it to develop the ‘whole’ child in all areas of life.

Daily subject timetables vary depending on year levels, but the following tables indicate a typical busy school day at the English International School Prague.


School gates open and staff are on duty in the grounds and entrance ways. Corridors begin filling with chatter from eager students heading to classes. Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils enter the building through the cloakrooms backing onto the playground, whilst Key Stage 2 pupils enter through the main Primary entrance. Senior pupils enter the building from the Seniors entrance at the front of the school.


School day officially begins with registration, followed by the start of lessons at 8:40


Mid-morning break of 20 minutes.


Early Years up to Year 2 – lunch and play break



Year 3 up to Seniors - lunch break

Pre - Nursery and Nursery morning sessions end after lunch and play break. Parents collect pupils from the school playground.



Nursery afternoon sessions and Reception to Year 2 day ends, exiting from their classroom exit points. Clubs in Early Years and Year 1 and Year 2 run from 14.50 to 15.20.



Lessons end for students in Year 3 to Year 13. After de-registration students leave the school (Year 3-Year 6 from their classroom exit points and Senior pupils from the front of the school).
