At ISM, we do have a few stipulated entry requirements that families must provide upon applying.
These include:
- School reports (in English, if possible)from the previous two academic years (for those who have attended school or kindergarten for this length of time);
- The email address of the class teacher, form teacher or Head of Year in order to request an academic reference;
- A family interview, either at ISM or via Skype.
We are an English-speaking school. Therefore having a good understanding of the language does give applicants a significant advantage. For those in need of additional support with the English language, we do provide EAL (English as an Additional Language) lessons. We do, however, strictly limit the number of students who need significant support to fully access our curriculum to 20% of any class.
Some students may need additional, specialised support due to a light to moderate learning difficulty. This can be generally supported through the development of an IEP (Individual Education Plan) that is designed by our Learning Support Coordinator. Due to our limited capacity to support SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) here in Moscow, it is the school policy not to accept students that require more extensive support.
If you have any questions or concerns about the entry requirements or your child’s educational needs, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We accept applications all year round.
