Christmas is fast approaching, bringing with it a spirit of festive happiness and joy. However, amidst the omnipresent celebrations, one should never forget that Christmas is also the time of spreading and sharing the festive joyf by helping people who are far less fortunate than ourselves.

ISM’s ‘Giving Tree’ campaign helps children in foster homes around Moscow, adding special Christmas magic to their lives.

ISM Primary students from across the school have teamed up to help almost 200 children in foster homes. On the 3rd of December all primary students received a gift tag from the ‘Giving Tree’. Each tag contained information about a child and what he or she wished to receive for Christmas. After receiving their tags, the students went shopping in order to purchase their presents. The presents were then brought into school so that they can be safely delivered to the charity.

This year, our Giving Tree list has been provided by one of the charity projects under the ‘ARC’ umbrella - Pro-mama (https://pro-mama.ru/). ISM has been working with this charity for a number of years. Their programmes help to provide foster families with help and guidance, as well as ensuring that foster families  are of the highest quality. The main purpose is to provide these children in orphanages and foster homes with items which will make their lives happier.
