All three swimming groups (Sharks, Dolphins and Stingrays) would enjoy competing for medals in the freestyle and backstroke races. Once these were completed, the children were given some fun ‘noodle’ races to earn points for their Houses.

In Year Four, Isabella Stewart from the Saxons won her freestyle event in style, clocking an impressive 19.6 seconds race time. Karim Musakhanov represented the Romans extremely well by winning both freestyle and backstroke races. Karim was also the fastest boy in Year Four with a finishing time of 18.24 seconds. In Year Three, Vlada Kachur set the record for the fastest girl with 23 seconds for the Romans. Andrey Rumyantsev set the pace for the boys by winning his race in 20 seconds flat. A result that pleased his Viking supporters. The Romans’ Vaslia Komissarova in Year Two set an impressive pace throughout the day as she won her freestyle race in 20.18 seconds. Saxon Philipp Shabunin represented the boys well on the day, also winning his race in 27.6 seconds. Year Ones Juan Zorilla and Masha Timofeeva won both of their freestyle and backstroke races, dominating for their respective Houses. These results considerably helped both the Vikings’ and the Saxons’ overall House point scores.

It was a fantastic week of swimming events. It would be impossible to name all of the children who did such a fantastic job in the pool. However, honourable mentions must go to Yeong Ji Hwang, Grigory Gorskiy, Korina Perencevic, Anastasiya Gavrilov, Sophie Pans, Sofiya Pankova and Liliana Parr for their impressive performances.

Congratulations to the Saxons, the victorious House of the week!
