School Buses

Transport Link Service offers school bus services for a broad range of locations across Moscow.

Covid-19 Related Terms

All clients from the 2019-20 academic year will receive the full cost of the Term 3 fees in the form of a credit for the 2020-21 academic year. This amount will be split into three and spread across all three terms of the current academic year (2020-21) and cannot be transferred to the next 2021-2022 year.

The following policy comes into force as of January 1st, 2021:

Should the school be fully closed (*) for 6 school days or longer due to COVID-19 during the academic year, the days of closure will be compensated “day for day” on a pro-rata basis by credit transfer to the following term once the school reopens.  School closures during less than 6 school days are not compensated.

No monetary refunds will be done other than according to the refund policy. Our refund policy for people leaving school or Russia stays the same (please see the Refund Policy paragraph down below).

Possible compensation in days for the current 2020-2021 academic year:

- cannot be accumulated

- cannot exceed the 50% of the school bus fee

- will be spread out over the full next trimester (or next school year in case of compensation for the days of school closure in Term 3 of 2020-2021).

(*) - This compensation is valid if the whole school stops working (for Krylatskoe Campuses - both Upper and Lower Campuses should be closed, for Rosinka Campus – the whole Rosinka Campus should be closed)

How It Works

We collect your children and drop them off at your door, or as close as is possible. All buses have adult monitors on board, in addition to certified and medically checked drivers.

Parents can contact bus monitors at all times during the ride. For your convenience, we have our own bus coordinator based at the Krylatskoe Upper Campus from 09:00 to 16:00 (from 10:00 to 17:00 on ASA days) to support you with any queries you may have. 

New clients may also sample our service for three days free of charge to understand if the service works for their individual circumstances.

Collection times are designed for 08:15 arrival at the campus before the start of the school day at 8:30. The average journey time to school is just under 1 hour. To maintain route integrity and respect for others, late shows are not collected, after a short wait (2 minutes maximum). Afternoon return (15:45 departure from ISM / 16:45 on ASA days) times can vary, but average journey times are less than one hour. Obviously, more remote residential locations can result in longer journey times. Of course, we do want to remind clients that Moscow can be a challenging environment for road travel.

TLS reserves the right to decline to serve excessively distant residential locations.

Our Fleet and Drivers

TLS currently serves ISM and six other international schools in Moscow. Our large vehicle fleet (of over 100 buses) improves the reliability of the service.

Every TLS driver has a class D Russian driving license and is medically checked every morning by a certified physician at TLS facilities.

As our main vehicle of choice, we use an 18-seater Ford Transit, equipped with specialist heating systems, air conditioning, and seatbelts. We perform regular safety checks and ensure buses are kept in top condition. We also have other buses from 8 to 53 seats to tailor transport provision to a user’s needs.

Our main bus garage and parking are located near ISM. We have backup buses and drivers to ensure the continued reliability of our service.

Vehicles are insured according to Russian law, and all drivers hold extra liability insurance.

Refund Policy

If a family decides to end the provision of the school bus service: 

For any child who pays for the Term and begins the term, we refund only 50% of the pro-rata cost of the remaining days in the Term. After a user has made use of our services for 75% of a Term, no refund is applicable for the unused days for that Term.

  • Prices are payable in advance, and do not include VAT.
  • We reserve the right to remove any child from the bus service for disciplinary, safety, and security reasons, after a formal warning is given. Our behaviour code is available upon request and is given to each family at the beginning of each year.

ISM does not provide home-to-school bus services. Bus services are contracted between families (or in some cases companies and embassies) and service providers. The school does maintain a cooperation agreement with Transport Link Service (TLS), which has proved a reliable partner over the years and who have a school-based transportation coordinator. Of course, parents are also free to make arrangements with any transportation provider they wish.
