My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks. I remember observing a young probationary teacher during my time in the United Kingdom, who started each lesson with “this is a risk-taking, mistake-making room, you are all welcome”. I borrowed this and use it in every lesson. It reminds students to embrace the challenges of learning with confidence and prepares them for future experiences and life itself. Having taught for many years in over three different continents, I have gained a wealth of experiences and skills, personally and professionally, regarding cultural awareness, a better global outlook and international mindedness, adaptability and resilience that I try to bring into my day-to-day teaching. I am so looking forward to working at ISM.

I love the outdoors, walking, fishing and rugby. I am currently learning to play the bagpipes and golf. However, at the moment, I tend to agree with moment agree with Mark Twain who said that golf is a "waste of a good walk."
