I am very excited to be working as String Teacher at The International School of Moscow. As a concert violinist, I believe that teaching and mentoring young people forms a very important part of my career. It is my greatest passion to inspire and nurture new talent. Originally from Sydney, Australia, I am thrilled to be back in Russia, which I regard as my 'second home' after living in Moscow for the past eleven years. My teaching is based on the legendary and universally-acknowledged Russian school of violin / string technique. It is through this essential ingredient of my personalised approach to teaching, that I am committed to enabling students to fully realise and develop their artistic potential. They will also discover the very essence of music-making through observation, and have the opportunity to learn about great string performers from the past and present. I believe that every child deserves to have the opportunity to learn in a supportive and highly-motivated environment.
I believe that ISM is a place where I can encourage students to fully explore and hone their musical abilities, based on a solid foundation in the principles of string playing.
I have a great interest in Russian language and culture and I speak Russian fluently. Apart from music, I enjoy my hobbies of handcrafts, sewing and spending time in nature.
