BA (Hons) Music/QTS – University of Leeds; PhD in Russian Music – Goldsmiths College, University of London
My teaching philosophy can be summarised as follows: to model, faciliate, encourage, support and inspire every pupil to be the very best version of themselves that they can be. For they are tomorrow's future. My interests are broadly cultural: music, art, theatre and film. As an experienced pianist and double bass player, I am both a classical and a jazz musician. I am also a big fan of 70s prog-rock! I also publish writings on Russian and Soviet music and am currently learning the clarinet. For me, ISM is characterised by its cultural diversity: by so many talented, creative and vibrant people coming together to be part of one vision, one passion and one purpose. The chilren at ISM are wonderful and both a real joy and an inspiration to teach!
