These include the Fashion Park mall opened in 2014, it is an open air shopping mall centrally located on Yunle Lu and Jinfeng Lu. The name, Fashion Park is slightly misleading as there are only currently a few fashion shops including sports -wear and women’s clothes. A more apt name would be the Haucao park of experiences as it caters for all your senses from restaurants and bars, ice cream parlours, cafes and bakeries to a cinema, a climbing wall, soft play and now on the second floor an exciting Forest School . There are even plans for a city farm where children can enjoy growing and learning about plants. There are no farm animals, but the pet shop on the ground floor does have puppies and kittens who are always looking out for a new family.
In this Fashion Park during spring and summer alfresco dining is a popular activity. There is a large water fountain area that is safe for children, while you look on from the variety of restaurants situated around the square. These include Blue Frog, New York Style Pizza and Favorita Italian Kitchen and Wine bar.
Zhu Di Park is a large green space within Huacao close to Rose Lane Garden community. During Spring and Summer western families enjoy lazy weekends in the park picnicking, flying kites with locals, joining in Tai Chi exercises and on warm evenings watching or participating in the very graceful and sometimes energetic public dancing.
In addition to the shopping mall and park there are local wet markets where fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and eggs are on sale. There are a variety of supermarkets selling western foods and household goods as well as a selection of cafes and restaurants.
