Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,

We thank all our families and staff for helping make last week's Book Week a school wide success. Our teachers and Book Fair Committee organised a wide variety of book-related activities and photos from the Extreme Reading Challenge are posted in the main foyer. Topping it all off was our Book Week assembly where we handed out awards for Roald Dahl-inspired book covers and poetry.

This is another busy week which includes the Juilliard - NAE Performing Arts Workshop, our Primary School Assessment Week and our Primary School Assemblies.

We would also remind our parents of the upcoming DCA meeting on 14th March. We ask that all Class Representatives attend and we encourage parents who are interested to apply for the upcoming positions of DCA Chair and Vice Chair for 2017-2018. The DCA is an integral part of DCIS and works alongside the School to build on the elements of community, friendship, support and fun. Please click here to apply.

Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard

The Juilliard School, a world leader in performing arts education, and Nord Anglia Education are pleased to announce that applications are open for Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard – our summer programme from 8 – 21 July 2017 for students aged 10 – 18 years old. In addition there is a significant 15% discount from the standard price for all DCIS students.

Two Ongoing Initiatives

A reminder about our two ongoing initiatives for DCIS families:

  1. Mobile School App 
    We have officially launched the DCIS mobile school app that will allow you to directly access from your mobile device (handphone, iPad, tablet) numerous informational services, from the lunch menus to ECAs, from contact numbers to social media.   2. DCIS International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Scholarship
    DCIS has been approved* for the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and is now authorised as an IB World School. We are pleased to announce that we will be offering partial scholarships for qualified students for this prestigious programme that provides excellent preparation for university education and employment. Global Campus: The week ahead (w/c 6th March)


•              10th March – DCIS deadline for application for the UN trip (Y9-12 only)

•              3rd April – deadline for the Visual Arts competition

GLOBAL CHALLENGE - This year, our collaborator, UNICEF, has challenged our students to tackle two of the United Nation’s Global Goals for sustainable development. We have designed the Global Challenge with UNICEF and our teachers, which will see students take part in key activities to help tackle either the Zero Hunger or Good Health and Well-being goals.  More information will be shared shortly about our DCIS plans for the challenge and how each and every one of you can take part!

UN GLOBAL GOALS SUMMIT 2017 – We are thrilled to be able to announce the application process is now open for the Global Campus Worldwide trip to New York this summer to take part in the United Nations Global Goals Summit. This once in a lifetime opportunity is open to students in Y9+ and students and parents have been informed about the application process.

GLOBAL LIBRARY - Entries are coming in for the Chinese New Year Competition and judges will be sharing their feedback soon. Congratulations to everyone who has taken part! Students who want to take part in the Global Library must join via the online space on Global Campus Online.  When they join, they receive a certificate that celebrates their participation in the Global Library.

JUILLIARD - The Summer Performing Arts Programme with Juilliard has launched and there is a 15% discount for all NAE students.  More information can be found here.

RDA Charity Movie Event

The RDA Charity Movie will be premiering 'Kong: Skull Island' this week and are welcoming DCIS families to a great night out at the movies whilst supporting a good cause. Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore (RDA) is the only charity locally to provide free horse-riding therapy for children and adults with disabilities
