In Nursery this week the children were physically responding through movement, to changes and variations in tempo and dynamics. With the uptempo beat they could run, but with the downtempo they needed to move slowly.

This week Year 2 students strengthened their keyboard technique by playing Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’ – one of Juilliard’s Core Works. Practice will lead students to play in unison next week, as a whole class ensemble.

Our Year 5 and Year 6 students were reinforcing the notes of the treble clef through a series of progressive activities. This included a note identification game and a note construction game, culminating in an activity requiring each note to be related to the keys of the keyboard.
