All About Hearts in Year 9 GCSE PE Our Year 9 students are almost a year into their three year GCSE journey. In GCSE PE the students are currently focussing on the circulatory system and last week they brought their learning to the science lab.

Our Dover Court Year 9 students are almost a year into their three year GCSE journey. In GCSE PE the students are currently focussing on the circulatory system and last week they took part in a dissecting exercise.

Mr Holmes' Year 9 GCSE PE class had the opportunity to take their learning to the science lab with a hands-on lesson led superbly by Mr Mckeown.

Having undertaken the topic on the circulatory system, the class got the opportunity to dissect hearts, allowing them to find the chambers, valves and main arteries.

It was a fantastic experience to take this topic to a practical level and we are are extremely grateful to Mr McKeown for leading this.

Sophie – This was much easier to learn as you can feel the heart! It was fun seeing the blood!!

Astrid – I like the heart dissection as I could see how the heart worked in real life.

Emma – It was easier to see the blood flow journey through the heart.
