Staff Profile: Paula Sivanandan

Paula Sivanandan

Paula graduated from Aberystwyth University with a BSc. (Hons.) Economics, Information and Library Science.  She went on to complete a MSc. (Dist.) Digital Education from The University of Edinburgh.

Initially, Paula worked in public libraries in the United States where she discovered her passion for children’s services.  She jumped at the opportunity to move into school libraries when her family moved to Hong Kong and subsequently, Singapore. In addition to providing library services, she led the introduction of the digital e-book collection and developed the K-12 information literacy curriculum.  She believes that the library should be the heart of the school, supporting learning both inside and beyond the classroom.

After a spell with Microsoft leading technology for learning in international schools across Asia Pacific, she returned to teaching as a key stage 2 computer science teacher.  However, her passion for libraries led her to Dover Court where she works to create a welcoming, engaging library environment that supports learning and sparks curiosity.  Leveraging her background in digital education, Paula hopes to introduce new technologies for learning, to promote accessibility, expand learning opportunities and engage with other schools across the Nord Anglia family.

Paula spends her spare time with her husband, two daughters and their numerous furry pets.
