Teaching comes as a natural passion for Richard. He has gained a wealth of experience having been in the profession since 1988, and has worked in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Dover Court International School, he worked 9 years in a local school, holding positions such as Senior Level Head and Special Olympics Sports Coordinator.
Richard joined DCIS in 2000. During his tenure, he has taught students at different levels both in the Primary and Secondary Schools. Richard’s effective leadership, man-management and strong organisational abilities, as well as a willingness to contribute where possible, have made him an integral component of the DCIS setup.
Richard has organised many educational and adventure trips for the Secondary School such as orientation camp with emphasis on social integration and team building. He has also coordinated both the NAE Alpine Expedition and the Les Martinets Expedition in Switzerland.
Richard grew up in a fishing village where he learnt to appreciate the beauty of nature. Some of his hobbies include photography, trekking, mountain climbing, snorkelling and scuba diving. He is married to a loving and caring wife and has four lovely children.
Richard is a firm believer that learning extends beyond the confines of a classroom and seek to provide students with unique outdoor experiences that aid in providing them with a more holistic education. The world is his classroom. He is also a strong advocate of inclusive education and strongly believe that every individual has a special place in society regardless of the abilities they are endowed with. He believes that creativity, flexibility and innovation in learning and teaching are necessary to unlock the potential of every child.
