Melanie started her teaching career in the UK before moving to The British School of Beijing in 2010 where she became the Head of Mathematics. After leaving China, she took up a post in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and back in 2017 worked here at DCIS for two terms. Melanie brings with her a plethora of experience and of course, knowledge of the school and curriculum.
As an enthusiastic and committed teacher, Ms Benson ensures that all students can access and thrive within the mathematics curriculum by tailoring lessons to individual needs. She has a passion for maths and the wellbeing of students; she thrives to ensure all students have skills for life to become global citizens.
As a Progress Leader she particularly enjoys the pastoral side of teaching and is looking forward to another year with the cohort.
She often sets herself new challenges (completing a half marathon was a testing one!) and is enjoying new and exciting opportunities in Singapore.
