Emily taught in the North East of England for two years before joining the Science Department at Doha British School in Qatar. In this role, she has enjoyed developing schemes of work for the new iGCSE specifications, delivering the Biology IB Diploma Programme and running several science clubs. She is also passionate about improving students understanding of opportunities available to them after school, and enjoys running school trips which encourage these. In the past she has lead trips to Cambridge University, Durham Botanical Gardens and has led fieldwork in Qatar’s mangroves. Emily thoroughly enjoys witnessing student’s enthusiasm as they make links between their classroom learning and exciting opportunities available in the wider world.
Outside of the classroom, Emily is a keen dancer and enjoys visiting the theatre. She has several dance teaching qualifications ranging from Ballroom to Cheer dance, and hopes to become involved in the fantastic performing arts programmes available at DCIS. She is also passionate about travel, and aims to visit as many of the exciting places surrounding Singapore as possible.
