Staff Profile: Natalie Binkin

Natalie Binkin

Secondary School Science Teacher

Natalie gained her Bachelors degree and PGCE in Chemistry at the University of Leicester, followed by a Masters in Molecular Biology of Tropical Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Prior to Dover Court, Natalie has taught at a number of international Schools in the UK, Switzerland and Singapore. During her first stint on the little red dot, Natalie taught at UWCSEA East, as well as Tanglin Trust School, holding posts of pastoral responsibility which included assistant Head of Year and Boarding Houseparent. Whilst at ACS Egham International School, she was also a CAS Coordinator before her passion for travelling took her to Singapore. Following a couple of years in Switzerland at La Cote International School she has returned, excitedly, with her family to Singapore.

Her passion for science and the belief that education does not stop at 3 subjects makes her a strong advocate of the IB programme for post-16 education. She has been involved in a range of IB disciplines, including CAS, TOK, Environmental Systems, Biology and Chemistry. Natalie’s favourite lessons are those where students’ passions lead to discussions beyond the curriculum and where she learns new things from students!

Outside of school, Natalie enjoys travelling, cooking and attempting to bake. She has an interest in languages and is fluent in Hebrew, Polish and is currently working towards her French literacy exams. She loves tennis, hiking, skiing and will even be convinced, on occasion, to do a “fun” run!
