Staff Profile: Sally Eades

Sally Eades

Secondary School Head of Humanities, History and Geography Teacher

Sally’s undergraduate degree is Egyptology and Ancient History BA Hons. from Swansea University. She completed her Postgraduate Teaching qualification at the University of Bath specialising in History.

Previous to Dover Court, Sally taught in London schools for over six years. She taught students aged 11 -18, coordinated a successful Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme and mentored new teachers. Although she loved London, when her husband moved to Singapore she was delighted at the prospect of teaching abroad. Due to her family’s military background and a childhood in Germany, Cyprus and England, she has a love of travel and appreciation of different countries and cultures. Combined with teaching in schools in London, this has led to an enjoyment of multicultural learning environments and a strong emphasis on tolerance and respect for different views and opinions. Sally has found DCIS to be an exciting learning environment with lots of enthusiastic minds. She hopes to encourage enjoyment for the world and knowledge to her students.

Sally's interests are quite diverse as she likes to keep busy. When not teaching, Sally can be found exploring South East Asia, whether this means sailing in Singapore, rock climbing in Bali, trekking up volcanoes in Sumatra, visiting museums in Vietnam or running half marathons in Borneo.
