Staff Profile: Claire Sharkey

Claire Sharkey

Year 3 Class Teacher (3CS)

Claire graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree from Trent University Nottingham where she studied Primary Education for 4 years, specialising in Humanities.

Claire moved to Nottingham from Ireland to attend university. Throughout her time there, she fell in love with the city and stayed thereto begin her career. Here she worked in a city school in Nottingham where she taught Year 2 and Year 4. She had many other roles including coordinating PE and she was also part of the school governing body as a Staff and Curriculum Governor.

Claire has a great passion for teaching and believes that a happy classroom, where children feel valued and respected, is of great importance.  She couples this with lots of fun and laughter. Claire aspires to deliver active, engaging lessons that instil a love of learning into the students she teaches.

Outside of school, Claire likes to keep active, socialise with friends and indulge in a good book. She also enjoys exploring and visiting new places, as well as learning about different countries, cultures and traditions. She is delighted to be able to continue her interests in and around Singapore.
