Staff Profile: David Holmes

David Holmes

Year 3 Class Teacher (3DH)

David gained a BA in English Literature at the University of Sheffield, before achieving an MA in Radio Journalism at Nottingham Trent University in England. He undertook his teaching qualifications through teacher training with Bromley Schools Collegiate and the University of Worcester.

David is joining Dover Court, having taught at a primary school in Bromley, experiencing all primary year groups. Before this, he trained as a journalist, experiencing life at various radio stations and working with all walks of life, until deciding on a career in teaching. He is excited to have the chance to see a new part of the world and to experience new adventures in Singapore.

David has co-ordinated art and music for the last two years, a role which allows him to show his creative side. For this he leads on art projects, organises school performances and nativities, and plays the piano during singing assemblies (although not always successfully!)

David is usually found reading, writing, travelling, watching sports or visiting theatres, cinemas and art galleries. He is a life long supporter of Derby County Football Club. Additionally he enjoys a wide range of music and films, and loves country walks and hiking.
